Thanks for this one, Tony - it brought back memories… I graduated in the summer of 2008, entered the job market in “nuclear winter” state :)
With the benefit of hindsight, it might have been a blessing as it lead me down an interesting (commercial) pivot compared to what I thought I’d do (lab work).
Someone once told me not to be shy about asking for informational interviews, because "people love talking about themselves". Words of wisdom...
