Hi,
I’m writing this from a very large and comfy bed that looks out onto the Chesapeake Bay. Sunrises over the water are amazing and I get why people want to live here despite the water looking murky. It feels good to be vaccinated and traveling.
What I Wrote Last Week - Specialty Polymers: Nylon is my attempt at doing a basic explanation of what nylon is and why we use it without trying to be too dense when it comes to the chemistry part. I also wrote about Exxon Mobil’s Carbon Capture plan in the Gulf of Mexico, but they want money from the US Government to do it.
What I Read Last Week - Dror Poleg’s newsletter is really interesting to me and his latest Raiders of the Lost Bank made me think about old world versus new world. How much pre-pandemic normal will we return to or have we experienced a paradigm shift. The YOLO Economy article by Kevin Roose is also complimentary here and worth reading if you haven’t already.
Podcast Episode I Loved - Tim Ferris Interviewed Jacqueline Novogratz for his podcast. I loved hearing about her winding career path and the story of her in West Africa trying to start a bakery.
What I’m Watching - The show that my wife and I are LOVING right now is Drive to Survive on Netflix. Currently midway through season two and we never really watched or cared about Formula 1 in anyway, but this show has us hooked. Also, the show might make you a more aggressive driver after binging. Here is the season 3 trailer.
Talk to you Tuesday,
